Long Term Care Aide

Class Times: 8:15 am to 2:50 pm (117 hours - 19 days)

Long-term Care Aides play a vital role in the health care team. They help patients with routine healthcare needs, bedside care, and basic nursing procedures. They are often employed in long-term care facilities and hospitals. Additionally students are provided the opportunity to use the theory in practical clinical experiences. Students must pass the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s certification exam for long term care aides to work in most facilities.

TEXTBOOKS Students are required to purchase textbooks and/or supplemental reference materials on the first day of class. Textbooks are approximate cost and subject to change. This is a separate cost, not covered by your tuition or students needs fee. Textbooks may be purchased from either the GPTC Bookstore or a different vendor of your choice.	$67.00

Uniform (Required daily for Class and Clinicals) ...… SCRUBS NAVY BLUE color - top and pant (any style) SCRUBS may be purchased from any vendor. Cost may vary depending on amount purchased. Kingdom Medical gives GPTC students a 20% discount. Lawton Medi-Equip gives GPTC students a 15% discount. Students will have one week from the first day of class to purchase uniforms.	$50.00

Tuition and fees or documentation from your funding agency are due by the first day of class each semester. Students who are enrolled in a program for more than 5 scheduled school days will be responsible for the full semester’s tuition and fees, regardless of enrollment or funding status. Out-of-district adult students will pay in-district tuition plus $1000 for an “out-of-district” fee.
