Description
This program is an introduction to the historical background, professional direction, agencies and processes, purposes, functions, ethics, administration, and technical problems of the criminal justice system. Areas examined are municipal, state, and federal systems. Students will learn foundational knowledge and technical skills in law enforcement. Graduates are prepared to enter the criminal justice field in roles such as detention officer (jailer), dispatcher, and private security and are well-positioned to pursue advanced certification and a career in law enforcement when eligible.

Law Enforcement Officer, Security Guard, Private Investigator, Correction Officer, Dispatcher – Approximate Pay Potential: $13-30 per hour.
You will learn to:
- Strengthen your mind and body through rigorous mental and physical training including advanced self-defense tactics
- Apply forensic investigative techniques to process crime scenes, dust for fingerprints, bag evidence, and interrogate suspects
- Explore how state and federal laws work to keep our communities safe.
