  • This handbook has been designed to acquaint the students with the policies, services, and procedures of Great Plains Technology Center. It should be kept as a ready reference to questions that may arise during the school year. Each student is held responsible for these policies throughout the year.

  • The Great Plains Technology Center is a modern facility with more than 300,000 square feet, which began its training programs in September of 1971. Enrollment has grown steadily and we now serve in excess of 13,000 high school and adult students in both the day and night programs annually. A satellite school in Frederick for Tillman & Kiowa Counties was completed in the fall of 1991.

  • Dear Students, welcome to a new year at Great Plains Technology Center!  We are honored that you have chosen to pursue your career goals with us and become part of a school community committed to your success.

At Great Plains Technology Center, education is more than learning technical skills – it is about building confidence, developing professionalism, discovering purpose, and preparing for opportunities that can shape your future.  Every program on our campus is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world careers and industry expectations.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of watching students grow in remarkable ways during their time here.  I have seen students discover talents they did not realize they possessed, gain confidence through hard work and achievement, and leave out campus prepared to make an impact in their careers, families, and communities.  That transformation happens because students choose to invest in themselves and fully engage in the opportunities placed before them.

Our commitment to you is simple: we will support you, challenge you, encourage you, and provide an environment where you can succeed.  Every instructor, staff member, and administrator on this campus is invested in helping you reach your goals.  We believe every student deserves access to high-quality training, strong support systems, and opportunities that lead to growth and success.

I encourage you to take pride in your work and make the most of every opportunity available to you – whether in the classroom, the lab, student organizations, leadership activities, work-based learning experiences, or the relationships you build along the way.  The habits, skills, and professionalism you develop here will continue to benefit you long after your time at Great Plains Technology Center.

Thank you for choosing Great Plains Technology Center as part of your journey.  We are excited to have you here and look forward to all you will accomplish in the coming year.  Wishing you a successful, meaningful, and rewarding experience.
